Storyline
In 1192 in Ghazni Afghanistan Prithvi raj is captured by Md Ghouri and chopped of his eyes and left to die in front of lions but the warrior in him is still alive and overcomes battle but faints due to weakness.The story takes back to some years in Ajmer where Prithvi raj is respected by his whole regime who can die for him. While in Kannauj princess Sanyogita is in love with him Prithvi raj decides to give shelter to Mir Hussain and his lover Chitralekha whose brother of Ghouri this angers Ghouri as Hussain has eloped with Chitralekha whom he wanted as his keep.Prithvi raj decides to get them married which results in war between him and Ghouri where he defeats Ghouri with Kanha Kaka and Chand Bardai but Hussain looses his life.While Ghouri is captured and is to be assassinated 2nd day by Kaka Kanha.Prithviraj forgives Ghouri but but he swears that he will be back for revenge as he is doing a mistake by keeping him alive.Prithvi raj soon becomes ruler of Delhi angering Jay chand and he puts Prithviraj's statue outside his palace referring him as gate keeper but gets more angered when he finds Sanyogita loves him.Jaychand arranges Sanyogita's marriage to rival of Prithvi raj but she marries the statute outside the gate and soon Prithviraj arrives to take her along.Jay chand through a merchant decides to contact Ghouri and asks him to capture Prithviraj in return of anything but Ghouri has his own plans

The movie is brilliant and a must watch movie. I cried in the end. The actions sequences, music and cinematography is really mind blowing. The acting of Akshay Kumar is excellant. Prithviraj Chauhan was from Rajasthan, but in this movie we see nothing related to Rajasthani culture. Rajasthani culture has many more things than just KHAMMA GANNI, they have there own language, their dressing style, their music and many more things. Akshay has always made movies like Holiday, Baby, Rustom, portraying a dedicated Soldier' role. And he played brilliantly in all of them. I absolutely loved this movie. From storytelling, choreographic sequences, dialogue & presentation to characters, this was quite an experience. Honestly, I went in expecting nothing, social media you know, but was pleasently surprised at how brilliant the cinema turned out to be. It may be on OTT soon but I strongly recommend a trip to the theater for best results. This film is phenomenal! The run time makes you wish it was longer. Amazing action scenes. The climax is chilling! Only Akshay could do justice to this role. Sanjay Dutt is evil and excels. Sonu Sood is good. Manushi Chillar is very good in her first role. She excellently portrays a classic beautiful character. The best part is the direction of Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. He brings nuances that make this film special. Visual effects are stunning. A must watch film about a forgotten history!

As historian this movie bothered me, or what is happening in India in general. Before anything this man was no hero, he fought Muhammad of Ghor twice, in pitched battle, both time against considerably smaller army. If I had one word to explain this film, it would be MASTERPIECE. Full power battle scenes, action on point, even the villain looked so good, totally believable.. Manushi looked like a true princess. Sanjay and Sonu are ace actors and they prove it with every single performance. Amazing cinematography, music by SEL, great costumes - I have literally no complaints for this Bollywood movie. The movie Samrat Prithviraj won't let you take your eyes off even for a moment. For me the entire movie of 2 and a half hours was over in no time as I was totally engrossed in it. Probably this movie is Akshay Kumar's career best. His acting left me speechless this time. The script of the movie was awesome and well directed too. Glamour, passion and most importantly that period feel! The costumes oh-my-god! They give you the feel that is exactly needed for such an epic film. The music is just brilliant Shankar -Ehsan Loy has done a tremendous job, and YRF makes sure they delivers an award winning album! The high octane drama and action provide a charm to this visually stunning film. The music and costumes quite set the mood. The performances and the direction make it a must watch A win win for me

The movie lacked everything. From dialogues to acting. Did they really think that the use of 2-3 Sanskrit or pure Hindi words in some dialogues would help? Loved the movie #SamratPrithviraj and it's a total paisa wasool film. Fast-paced screenplay and incredible dialogues. Visual treat...great VFX. Akashay is able to hold on to the gravitas required for the character. Sonu sood, Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Manushri have done an outstanding job. DOP and production designer are incredible. The climax is awesome and gave me goosebumps. Kudos to the team. Total family entertainment. #yrf thank you for a visual treat.

Don't know why people spreading negativity about this movie..I think this is the best movie of this year.. what a brilliant performance by akshay and whole starcast.. From beginning to climax you feel goosebumps only.. Awesome movie, great depiction and excellent acting 🤯 ya there's some turns and fiction add up in movie like ghazni was booing for samrat prithviraj chauhan and afghans buried samrats body at enterance of ghoris tomb and there were total of 17 or 18 wars that fought over tarain and johar of rani sanyogita was also not real (reality was beyond of humanity and it was a non-showable act that generals of ghori did to rani ji) BUT surely bollywood has something left in it. The movie lacked some serious elements. The casting was poor and not well thought. Akashay is a good actor but he should now stick to movies in which he can portray the character better, just like in Baby or Hera Pheri, and tbh he has lost the comedy touch. As far as Samrat Prithviraj goes, Akshay just couldn't do the role any degree of justice. And Manushi, well she's just not meant to act as of now. According to me this movie has a Climax that will bring you to the edge of your seats. The film overall is all things Gripping & Power Packed. Each and every character has played their parts in the best way possible. I wanted it to be longer honestly because i was not satisfied with just 2 hours and 30 mins. Someone please stop Aditya Chopra from producing such horrible movies . 1)the special effects was of a C grade 1980's film . I mean come on .. this is a YRF production ..I'm sure they had a decent budget . 2) costumes and jewellery are not even of that era ... Manushi is dressed more like some cheap gaavwali and not a princess or queen and the jewellery was picked up from local imitation vendors . 3)the return of Munnabhai .. I don't know what people say about the movie no matter what it is but it is very important for us to see how powerful our king was And he used to give his life for his country and people and was not afraid of anyone. Our coming generation should know about our history and our brave kings, what they have done for our country. So ignore the minor flaws in the movie. Prithviraj has all the elements of a pure commercial entertainer with not a single moment of boredom.Akshay kumar has done a great job as Prithviraj. Manushi was beautifull as Sanyogita. The entire supporting cast is remarkable too. Songs and the BGM were like an icing on the cake. Action choreography is fresh and power packed. Director has done a truly commendable job. Hats off to his entire team including sound, action and cinematography.

This is known as THE BRAVEST BATTLE FOUGHT in The World History. This movie deserves so many awards. Akshay Kumar is a great actor. When I watched this movie at the cinema hall, I just gone inside the movie. The acting by the villain, Manav Vij felt so much realistic. And the songs, they were the best. Disappointed!!! The movie has changed so many historical facts even the climax scene is not the one as written in Bardai’s poem. The movie just focuses on showing the story in a very absurd manner. The starcast: Prithiviraj was some 25-26 when he died, some younger actor would have been better The story : Afgani never praised Prithivi as portrayed in the movie... And Jaichand helped Gazni in the battle which is not shown... Sanyogita used to live next to Yamuna river not Ganga... Prithvi and Chand killed each other, unlike what is shown... If you are interested in knowing facts about Prithviraj Chauhan then you should watch it. The first half of the movie is breathtaking. So much history is attached with Ajmer Kings that the Indian youth doesn't know. Second half had so many things to show so the director had to make few scenes for many incidents. That's where I found that the director could have made this film in 2 parts. But I would definitely recommend it for everyone.

Prithviraj's story needed to be told and this movie has done absolute justice to it. The one thing I loved the most about the film was that it did not distort any facts. Being a history geek, I know all about the story of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and after watching the movie, i could relate to the story properly. Great acting by Akshay, superb direction, everything was in place. I would definitely recommend everyone to watch this film!

Yesterday I saw movie samrat prithviraj it is amazing and informative movie. This movie provides me a very useful information about life of samrat prithviraj chauhan . The director has very well explained the characteristics of samrat prithviraj . From acting to music department everything is awesome. Lyrics, background music, dialogues are fabulous. When Hari har song played it gave me goosebumps. I love this movie I will surely watch again. I recommend everyone to watch this movie.

The end scene of the film is so intriguing and will leave you in tears. Prithviraj Chauhan was a show that came when I was a kid, I used to love that show as well. But this movie surpassed my expectations like anything. Enjoyed it to the core , would recommend anyone who wants to learn more about our history and Samrat Prithviraj, do visit the theatres and watch this amazing film.

Oh my God... The Indian Historical Legend Prithivi Raj and where s Akshya Kumar even 2% also not matching. It's very sound personality like Prabhas, Hrithik, Ranveer, Vikram will perfect match. I will appreciate the research that might have gone into the making of the film because the level of authenticity in this movie is too high and achieving it is not an easy task. Honestly, more than anything I loved the hardwork that Dr/ Chandraprakash has put into the movie. Incredible dialogues, superhit casting, next level performances and beautiful cinematography. Music is also too good. Hats off to the makers!
